ting:

i pray God will bless me with the wisdom and the anointing to say the right things at the right times so as to relieve the hurt. the pain. the confusion. the anger. whatever the other person is feeling right at that very moment.

because more often than not, i don't know what to say, i just keep mum and i end up feeling like crap because it seems like i'm of no help at all.

sigh.

but more importantly, i pray You will allow the Spirit to lead me in prayer, so that whatever i'm praying for when another person is concerned will be relevant to him/her. that when i intercede, please work Your way in his/her life.

it's so easy to try fill the void in your life with everything else but the one that matters the most. it is so easy to not come clean with God, to keep everything within you, so much so in the end, you don't even know where you stand/what you're dealing with.

i sometimes don't know myself anymore.

but the good news is that God does, irregardless. so when i choose to just fall to my knees and open up my heart to Him and lay down every worry, burden, distress and confusion at the foot of His cross, His love and restoration just floods in once more. just like that and i'm renewed again. just like that and my weariness fades away. by just knowing He is for me and with me and He is my rock solid support, i can carry on with newfound determination.

we are so undeserving of His grace. but yet, it is limitless, so long as we don't limit Him.

"You are all that i need."

i just want to hunger for You more. to desire Your way in my life. to go according to Your will. to love You like never before.

thank You for hearing me everytime i cry. for relieving my pain. for the reassurances to my worries/burdens. for keeping me tight in Your embrace.

i have never felt so safe before.

"i will be still and know You are God."

camp was good. :):):)

ting:

*stoned*

phantom is in 3 hours. i ought to be doing cartwheels with excitment right now (considering how long i've waited for today to come) but i'm just.so.tired.

dear God, i pray i don't pay $92 and fall asleep mid-show (though this, i seriously doubt. :) ).

the span from yesterday to now was just pure insanity. camp officially starts today (but i'll only be going tomorrow... nopes, it's not the lack of commitment. rather, i booked my phantom ticket ages ago before the camp dates were confirmed!), which was why i was going nuts yesterday. realised at the latest possible minute that there were still so many things unplanned for and both my dear games co-planners were ignoring my calls/smses. imagine my panic.

plus i had my cell social night too (granted, i was exceedingly late for it, but i didn't have a choice). sigh. life has a knack of throwing everything at you in one go.

so after our cell social, i headed over to enoch's place, where we made changes and further planning till 4am in the morning. *stones* and because enoch was leaving for camp today, i didn't quite have the heart to make him stay up the entire night, so i came back, did up all the stuff and thank God somehow managed to finish everything on time.

ever notice the most annoying thing about life? when you want/need something in particular, it just disappears, hiding behind all the unlikely crooks and corners and you'll never guess where it is. and when you don't want it to surface, it turns up in the most annoying places. i swear i have cardboard... in fact, i DISTINCTLY remember putting aside several pieces of cardboard. but when i was digging through my entire room this morning, i couldn't find a SINGLE PIECE. AHHHHH! which resulted me walking around with a pair of scissors at 5am in the morning, looking for cardboard boxes lying around my apartment which i could decapitate (urm jeysern and tim, if you see weird boxes lying around in the kitchen, those are probably courtesy of me).

10am warranted running to the city to get some last minute stuff and had to endure a heart attack in the midst of it when ling and rohan called me with regards to a potential problem with our transportation to camp tomorrow (but thank God for jon king. you are a gem!), then heading over to enoch's place once again to pass him all that i've completed. then over to dear selena's place, as the sweetie was helping us wrap our gift hampers. after which was off to celebrate suba's birthday with her, though i was probably very bad company. :( sorry suba! i actually FELL ASLEEP at the lunch table. like oh man.

parted ways with the gang after (once again, sorry suba!!!), collected the tickets for phantom, went around practically the whole of melbourne city which is DEVOID of raffia string (grrrrr. i was grumbling to God about aussie's lack of imports) so in the end, told shannon he couldn't say no to me buying an alternative type of string (which i hope works fine) and the poor dude had no choice since he was midway to wilderness and was at my mercy (sort of).

came back, a quick trip to uni, back again and now, i'm sitting here stoning. my room is a total utter mess (then again, this happens everytime i'm in a hurry to get something out) and i've yet to pack for camp tomorrow.

dieeeeee!!!

so so so tired. but i can't sleep.

and enoch just very nearly gave me a heart attack when he called to ask if i put something really important for games which we need TONIGHT in his bag. because he couldn't find it and i KNEW i already put it in. very scary. God should put a quota on the number of potential heart attacks i can have within a day.

i wonder how camp is starting off. how the leaders are coping (i can so imagine peyli running around like a [quote adel] "headless chicken" [unquote] now). how the campers are feeling (*wings my little brother, aka nick who is leading a group [whee! so proud of him!] motivation and initiative*). i hope games will go great tonight (*wings shannon and enoch moral support*). and not to mention sermon as well (*wings peyli heaps of prayer and anointing*). should go engage in deep deep prayer after this entry.

phantom phantom phantommmm! i can't wait to see the chandelier.

because i haven't been posting pictures in ages, here are last night's cell social shots:

they were all on my case with regards to me taking photos of everything except people. well, sue the restaurant for having such nice decorative lights!

isn't it amazing how the lights twirling around in the glass of water and a slow shutter speed combine to create such pretty effects? needless to say, they were all on my case once again. rohan asked me if the next thing i was gonna take was the table leg. -_-

not as fantastic as tony roma's, definitely a far cry from hurricane's, but it was still passable.

a scary blue shot of me and the even scarier dude next to me. white balance was off... i switched on the flash but forgot to change the white balance. but it's still cool. :) i think. :)

and now we're back to our normal colouring.

greedy justin wanting a bite of my food. *sulks*

rohan was playing around with my camera and justin (that is his hand in the shot) and i were just hamming it up for him. =p

my camera sure is popular, because it is now justin's turn to play with it (the rest of the people in the background = my cell).

and then i somehow saw the need to camwhore...:

don't ask me why i got stuck with all the guys. the girls were missing in action then.

*shrugs* don't ask.

my co-leader and me. the poor dude went to cut his hair immediately the day after peyli and i laughed at it. heh. whoops! (ok adel. you now have my full permission to drool. =p)

en route to retrieve his far away parked car (haha adel.. i should have asked you this after the first photo... recognise the jacket!?? =p pity my bag wasn't in the shot too, else it can be something you recognise as well. =D)

yarra river at night (stupid bright light was from a ferry. and they were walking away without me.. so i couldn't stick around somemore and wait for the slowpoke ferry to move out of my frame. bleurgh. nevermind. some other full moon night when exams are done with and dad is here with his DSLR.)

ting:

internet has been pmsing so much these days it's not funny. whatever happened to "broadband"? (but thank God that everytime i go online for something camp-related, it works fine. =])

and it's no fun being sick. then again, serves me right for knowingly eating ice cream yesterday and running to 7-11 in just a t-shirt and jeans in the cold to get a bottle of dishwashing liquid (it smells like medicine. yucks.) when, in the middle of cooking, i ran out of it and i had to use a pot that needed washing (and i was worried my absence would somehow cause the rice cooker to blow up or something, hence the lack of jacket).

please pray i recover before camp (ie. this coming friday), so that nothing can hinder me from serving God. :)

honey makes up my staple diet as of now.

i want to go back to sleep again. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

surrendering an area of your life to God feels really good, because you know He is in total control and things can't possibly get all that screwed up. so, even now when i can't figure out exactly what i want/think, i'm not all that bothered, because i know if it's His will, it will come to pass. so why waste braincells worrying? :)

ting:

i can't believe i signed up for facebook. -_- -_- -_- so many people have been bugging me as of late.. kester wanted me to set up an account just so he could add me. i told him i was too lazy to. then rohan and shannon started having this very in-depth facebook discussion in front of me in a bid to get me to join in the "fun" as well, and shannon even CALLED me just now to bug me. i told him to set up one for me coz i couldn't be bothered.

and then... adel had to put in her request. sigh. and you know i'll fly to the moon and back for her, so since it came from HER, i obliged (ok, admittedly, i wanted to see her european pictures which, up till now, she has yet to post on her blog). i feel like a stalker now. ><

and adel! i feel so cheated! only THIRTEEN PICTURES of europe!??? you told me you took 3000!

one phone call, the release of months worth of pent up frustration/sadness that i've tried surpressing. i feel so much better now, in all aspects.

and thanks kelen. :) for all your concern.

the only thing left lingering is hurt.

it's funny how concern, doled out at the most appropriate moments, can just threaten to make you fall apart.

Hui:

hmm.. blogging while waiting for ting to call :P

jus came back from class not long ago.. ended early. woohoo

ahh.. counting down e days i have on this project. latest encounter with another species: a lady from hk who skypes u every half to an hour to ask me if the thing has been done, followed by multiple emails a day (asking abt e same thing), calls me 3 times a day. wah kaoz!

situation: i need to process some IDs. so i need to add e IDs to e server, and wait for e server to reflect the change. usually takes few hours to up to 2 days. so processing time is uncertain. and fyi, she was requesting for freaking 60 IDs to be processed at one go.

bloody hell! she keep asking me how long will it take for e system to reflect e change. i told her e timeline, she jus keep on skpying me, emailing me, calling me to ask WHEN. like "can it be done in 2 hours?", "can u help to check if u can make it refesh faster?", "can it be done tml?" wah kaoz. stfu man..

and i appeared offline on skype for yesterday and today. GUESS WAD. she sends emails at like say... 2.15pm, and it goes "blah blah blah... if i do not get a reply from u, i will call u at 2.30pm" fucker sia. and these 2 days i have been asking my colleagues to say tt im either not at my desk or i have gone for a discussion. and she started to "harass" my other colleague. seeing tt all of us share e same desk phone, we made e line engage. so tt she cant call. both of us appeared offline in skype too. wah lao eh. then guess wad. she skype me even though im offline lor! and aso skype my other colleagues from other team to come to my desk and ask me to call her. freak. i din care. i nv call her. THEN U GUESS WAD. SHE FUKING HELL CALL MY HP!!! arghh.. then no choice had to ans lor. and freak. she called 3 times within 15 mins. but heng ah. now left with 2 IDs nia. kaozzz idiot sia. serve her right. so many IDs, still say urgent. plan earlier next time man. :P

wah i typed so much.. and ting is still not ready..

woohooo counting down!

grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

there is seriously someone i would like to smack senseless now.

this pure irritation, this frustration, this bordering on anger... it's scary.

i wish there can be some place where i can just run away from all the ongoings inside my head. for it's what goes on inside that scares me the most.

ting:

i can't believe i'm blogging at this hour. 6.05am! like how often am i up at this time?

movie marathon with jovan. the second night in a row. we watched music and lyrics, and world trade centre.

world trade centre was an account given by two survivors from the sept 11 attacks, but somehow, the movie failed to move me. hmmm. i was preparing myself to cry heaps at the beginning, but i just couldn't make that emotional connection. maybe it's because one of the actors is nicholas cage (sigh. someone get that guy off the screen. i can't stand him.), maybe it's because they should have focused more on the people inside the buildings when the attacks happened (though i admit that due credit should definitely be given to the rescue workers) but yeah.

i loved music and lyrics though! not the storyline per se, but i love the songs in the movie. especially "way back into love" (yes yes ber. i know you're gonna go 'i told you so' but hey! sue me for only watching it now.). having a concrete storyline to the song sort of adds to it. awesome! the other hugh grant songs are pretty good as well (i never knew he could sing), especially "meaningless kiss". went onto limewire and downloaded practically half the soundtrack in one shot.

and the song, "pop goes my heart" is priceless! their music video cracks me up. even funnier is watching jovan do his imitation of their hip-swaying, hands-twirling act. hahahahaha! i was stuffing my mouth with my blanket in a bid to not wake my housemates up. darn, i should have videoed him.

love one of their compositions as well, though they didn't make it into a song:

"give it up i'm a bad hot witch
but with some magic i just might switch
let's fly our broom to the stars above
and charm our way back into love"

hungryyyyyyy. waiting for breakfast from hungry jack's. :) there goes my attempt to eat healthier again. sigh.

and i hope i'll be able to wake up in time to meet wei kee later. because if i oversleep, i'll never hear the end of it from him.

ting:

i have the weirdest cravings. maybe it's coz my stomach feels super duper weird and i just don't have the slightest inclination to put anything into it. maybe it's coz i started thinking of the food back home in singapore and i don't know how or why my mind wandered to NY's canteen offerings. i'm actually craving for the noodle soup this particular store sells, one which pei and i used to have on a regular basis.

i hereby declare myself insane.

then again, adel sweetheart agreed to accompany me back to NY one of these days (i make it sound like i'm in singapore) so we can see if the stall is still standing. :) thanks darling.

i'm forgetting the purpose of this entry.

was talking to adel last night (and today) and we were flitting from topic to topic, from fashion and how to mix and match clothings, to our daily lives, to the happenings around us and we finally landed on the topic of romantic relationships.

i love her analogies.

"people shouldn't play with relationships the way most are doing. it's not supposed to be like shopping, where you like a person, and then another one comes along and you think, 'hey, maybe this one's better', then try the new person out and contemplate who to choose, thereby hurting someone in the process. it's like when you want to buy a bag, you start looking around for one and buy one. then when someone else points out a better bag, you become confused and sometimes ditch the original bag in favour of the new one, or decide the new one is not worth it after testing it out.

relationships aren't supposed to be like shopping around, where you have the mentality of always keeping an eye out for new ones, or having the notion that you can always change your mind at a later stage.

it's supposed to be like gardening! whereby you choose a plot of land and stick with it. you try to cultivate it, take it for the better or worse. you look for weeds and pull them out, plants the seeds and let them grow under tender loving care. you water the flowers, decide and arrange the layout, pray to God for good/suitable weather. and also, you should enjoy the entire process. from the loosening of the soil to planting of the seeds to watching the fruits of your labour bloom under your care."

adel's a genius. i've never heard anything so nicely defined. :)

wheehee! internet's back up and running after lying dead for four whole days. very inconvenient four days for me, considering i had to alliance with my fellow group mates with regards to the assignment we handed in yesterday. but oh well. all's good. :)

so it is officially the H.O.L.I.D.A.Y.S!!! (erm... sorry medic students.. i will pray for you and your test come monday while meanwhile, i have tons and tons of fun =p) in a bid to celebrate, i succumbed to life's luxury number 2 (i think it was?) with regards to a previous blog entry. i went shopping!! wheeeeee! the three hours i spent walking around the city yesterday did serious serious damage. i've never spent so much at one shot my entire life.. when i came back and did my sums.. phew. it was almost instant heart attack. but hey, retail therapy for all the past few weeks of craziness. :) and boyyyy does it feel good. tim keeps asking me (especially just now) why i look so happy, and he won't take holidays + shopping as my reason for being so. -_-

and then, we hit the shops again today. dfo spencer PLUS bridge road. phewwwww. glad to say that i did get stuff, and my damage was far less than yesterday's. :) so all's good.

but now that i'm home... i'm sooooo bored! sure, there's tons of stuff to be done and my room needs serious cleaning up. but it's midnight and i'm feeling lazy. don't think anyone will appreciate me walking around with a vacuum cleaner at this hour. ah wells. maybe i should take rohan's advice and attempt accessorising my newly purchased clothes. :)

ting:

tuesday is over!! i can now truly say i'm a survivor. :) thanks to all those encouraging tags and smses and prayers... i love how you guys light up my otherwise bleak day. :)

and thank you God, for without You, i'd have died 10 hours ago.

so this is how someone survives having three things due in the same day.

12.30am - study study studyyyyyyyyy!
4.30am - starts getting somewhat stoned. should i sleep?
5.00am - hang in there. just a little bit moreeee...
5.15am - did last year's midsem test paper. 19/20, and i lost the one mark to me misreading one of the options (note to self: read CAREFULLY during the test!). seems pretty easy, no?
5.20am - but wait... are you sure she will be this nice this year as well and give us such a straightforward paper? *starts getting dubious*
6.00am - oh what the heck. i shall turn in for the night/morning.

8.30am - snooze.
8.35am - damn the alarm.
8.40am - throws handphone somewhere out of reach.
8.45am - okayyyyyy are you done ringing! i'm awake!

9.00am - falls back asleep after switching on my laptop in an attempt to finish my assignment.
10.00am - sits back up. stoned.
11.00am - oh crap. test's in an hour!

12.00pm - exam venue. flips over paper and stones somemore. i hate it when academics delibrately lead us on with an easy practice paper, then cause us to fall from grace when we look at the actual test questions. everything in the practice test was "a)...... b)...... c)..... d) none of the above". everything in the actual paper was "a) i and ii. b) i, ii and iii. c) i, ii, iii and iv. d) i, iii and v. e) all of the above". what the........

12.50pm - die la. i don't know how many i got wrong, having confused myself so much.
1.00pm - back home to rush out the last part of my assignment.
2.35pm - prints freshly completed assignment, attempts to breathe a little before presentation.

3.00pm - still breathing fine. until i started mentally reviewing what i wanted to say.
3.15pm - moment of truth. fluttering heart and sweaty palms.
3.20pm - will my hands stop shaking!
3.45pm - i don't seem to be making much sense. clock's ticking. gather thoughts, but they still come out somewhat fragmented. tongue seems slightly twisted. lack of sleep maybe?
4.00pm - sinks back into seat. no sense of achievement, tutor's usually constipated expression not there but then again, she seemed to be in a good mood today. perhaps it's because midsem holidays are looming. don't feel like we did well but ah wells. we'll wait till friday (results out) and see.

4.15pm - stopped to talk to two of the people i am bound to cross paths with on tuesdays. :)
4.20pm - on towards my last class for the day and to hand in my assignment.

5.15pm - end of class, beeline for home.
5.20pm - into bed!

i only dragged a very reluctant self out of bed for dinner at 8ish.

now, the only thing between me and the glorious holidays is my market research assignment, due friday. it shouldn't take too long, so i've every intention to get it over with before tomorrow comes.

phew. exhausted.

ting:

just last night, i was seeking God, seeking for a breakthrough in every aspect in my life - studies, spiritual etc. just last night, i was wondering why my life seemed to be spinning around in endless circles, going through the similar day to day meaningless routine of classes, assignments and yet more assignments. just last night, i was asking God for the reassurance that He knows what He is doing, because i certainly don't know what i'm doing. and just last night, i doubted. i doubted His reassurance to me all those months back, when i told Him i wanted another definite year in Australia, another definite year to serve Him, another definite year to study and get my honours degree.

because judging by the state of things, how is it possible i'll get into honours? a quota of thirty people. the diversion of the uni's resources to other areas - postgrad programs, the melbourne model etc. the fact i ought to be studying like there's no tomorrow, but i'm not. i don't even know what my lecturers are talking about half the time.

and then today, i am once again reminded and reassured.

"In every situation, there are always two stories--the story you see and the story God sees.
Sometimes life seems to be taking us down a huge detour and everything looks like it's not going our way. In those situations, our life and our story seems to be a disaster.

This is exactly what happened to Joseph, whose story is found in Genesis 37-50. Joseph's brothers jealously hated him and sold him into slavery. Joseph was wrongfully put in prison for raping Potifer's wife, when really he refused to compromise his integrity by sleeping with her. Then, Joseph helped get the chief cupbearer out of jail; however, when the cupbearer had an opportunity to return the favor and get Joseph out of jail, the man forgot about Joseph. Joseph ended up spending thirteen years in jail for something he didn't do.

At this point Joseph's story was going haywire, but God's story was right on track. That's because God had an amazing plan for Joseph's life; God was going to use Joseph to save Egypt and the surrounding lands for seven years of devastating famine. What looked to Joseph like a huge detour was really a great plan of God to provide food for countless people, including the very brothers that had sold Joseph into slavery.

At the end of this, Joseph realized that God had a bigger plan for his life, and after his brothers come to him for food, he tells them: "You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives" (Genesis 50:20).

All along, God's story was right on track.

This same principle is also true in the life of Jesus. To the disciples, it looked as though Jesus would be a great king who would rule Israel and return the nation to greatness. They hailed him as a great leader. So, when Jesus was being crucified, the story they saw looked like a major train wreck -- this great leader whom they had followed for the past three years was suddenly dead. However, God's story was at its peak -- God was in the process of connecting humanity to himself.

There's what you see and what God sees.

When your life seems to be a major disaster; know that God has bigger plans to use your life for great things. The story you see may not reflect the long-term story God has planned. Therefore, trust God, knowing that he will work for good in all circumstances (Romans 8:28).

If God took you to it, He'll get you through it.
Exodus 14 records the story of how the Hebrews escaped from bondage and slavery in Egypt. On their way out of Egypt, they camped in the desert near the Red Sea. They thought God was leading them out of Egypt. However, Pharaoh led the Egyptian army to where the Israelites were, and he trapped them against the sea. The Israelites must have felt betrayed by God, for it looked as though he didn't follow through on his plan to lead them out of captivity. But God was faithful to his word -- he didn't let his people down. He led them through the Red Sea and delivered on his promises.

You have probably faced times when you thought that you could never do something, never complete a particular task, or never make it to the finish. However, if God has promised you something, then you can be confident that God will get you through the difficult times in order to bring about his promise.

This is true in Joseph's life. God took him through years of pain and suffering for an ultimate benefit; Joseph realizes this and, in Genesis 50:20, says, "You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives." God had a bigger plan for Joseph's life, and God didn't let him down. God led Joseph through his struggles.

This principle is also true in your life. Even though you may be going through extremely painful times, do not fear for God will get you through the hard times you face (see Psalm 23:4). If God took you to it, He'll get you through it."

this was the reassurance i was hanging onto throughout my alevels year. the reassurance i somehow forgot between now and then. but His reassurances and reminders are very timely, as usual.

thank you God, for reminding me that there's a bigger picture to things. for restoring my faith, for breathing life into me again. help me focus on You instead of my circumstances and help me do the best for You, because everything is for Your glory.

"at the cross i bow my knee
where Your blood was shed for me
there's no greater love than this
You have overcome the grave
Your glory fills the highest place
what can separate me now"

and thank you God for the ultimate sacrifice. that even sin cannot impede us from having a relationship with You.

to those struggling through their day to day lives... take heart. because God is for you. :)

it's beautiful weather today. sun shining, nice cool breeze blowing, perfect for doing anything really. ideal for the palm tree and hammock holiday i'm still dreaming about. great for shopping too. basically fantastic weather for anything outdoors.

and i'm stuck at home. with so much work to do. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

it's striking me as ridiculous.. how much time i put into preparing for my stupid presentation which will last less than 5 minutes. one whole day + two nights (coz i gave up and went to sleep before finishing) + somemore (need to fine tune my part a little more when my groupmates send me their slides (speaking of which... why is everyone ignoring my emails to them!!!).

and i've a test to study for. and an assignment to do. and everything is due when?? tuesday! ahhhhhh!

and then another assignment due on friday (but i've every intention to finish it by tuesday night).

oh man.

i wish it was next week this time.

note to self: hang in there. God's with you. it's just a few more days. few more days, and you'll have two glorious weeks (sort of) of midsem break.

ting:

it's in times like these you crave for life's simple pleasures - a nice long catchup session with friends, a leisurely stroll down a sidewalk, sitting by a large window with a nice cuppa watching the world go by, waking up naturally without the alarm blasting beside your ear, making you scramble frantically to see if you've overslept (which happens to me 9 mornings out of 10).

let's not even talk about life's luxuries - a holiday destination, a splurgeful shopping session.

it's starting to feel like i'm going through life on fastforward mode these weeks, attempting to cram 48 hours into a short span of 24. i'm permanently exhausted, my eyes feel like they'll drop out of my head everytime i attempt cracking them open in the mornings, my immune system is threatening me with flu and a sore throat which always seem on the verge of coming. it's highly annoying, because like hello? just come already and let's get this over with. plus if i'm sick enough to be "confined to total bed rest plus medication", maybe i can get away with not handing in work and my parts for group assignments on time.

my various commitments are starting to feel like i'm picking away at the soil with a match stick, but getting nowhere because it gets filled faster than i can dig.

going to phillip island tomorrow (it's purely business, not anything to do with leisure sadly) for our camp site inspection. peyli changed the set off time to 10am, meaning i get sleep deprived of 4 hours (it was originally 2pm), further meaning i will probably sleep the entire way there, also meaning my initial plans of studying for my test next week in the car will go down the drain. bleh. it also means that i will be the only one in charge of games going, meaning there is only one brain (and one camera) to commit everything to memory, also meaning that i now have two responsibilites (checking out the facilities for games and helping rohan check out the sound system/hall/powerpoints for worship). i hope peyli and jemma don't decide to only give me an hour to settle everything.

speaking of which. i better go charge my camera. if it dies on me tomorrow, i am so screwed.

ting:

during potluck last night....

daniel: so what have you been up to?
me: nothing. church, uni, sleep.
tim: it could be worse. it could only be uni and sleep.

haha true that. if it wasn't for my involvement in church, i'd have been bored to death by uni and work already.

which reminds me of what ber said when he told me he misses me. "without you around, my life only revolves around uni and dota." lol.

sigh. i doubt i can go anywhere this midsem break. and it's two weeks too! bleurgh. half of the second week goes to phantom of the opera and church camp, and the whole of the first week would probably go to planning camp. and i've two 30% assignments due almost immediately after midsem break too. shucks.

ting:

hmmmm. sigh.

i originally wanted to not update this blog till adel gets back and read my birthday post for her, but she probably won't get internet access till a good few weeks later and i doubt i'll be able to refrain from blogging till then. plus, i'm bored of always coming back to a blog that is stagnant.

so yeps. my weird mood swings have miraculously disappeared (for good i hope) so yay!! i have a strong suspicion it was probably due to all the assignments i had to submit this week. lots of work + even more work = downward spiral of mood. though if those are correlated, then what will i be like in week 8 (ie. two weeks time)? on just tuesday of that week alone, i have (get this) a presentation, a midsemester test and a case study due. and then on friday, i have another assignment due. die la. *mentally prepares self*

and i'm prematurally in full blown holiday mood now. bleurgh. not a good thing when my group-imposed dateline is tomorrow night and i haven't even started on my part yet!! plus church tomorrow, camp committee meeting after, and possibly potluck (which i'm still not sure if i'll go for) at night... groans. and the only reason why i'm feeling so lazy is because i submitted a 30% assignment (which i'm pretty sure i screwed up because by the time i was nearing completion, i had totally no idea what i was talking about) yesterday.

why is this entry all about work?

i want a holiday. a nice palm tree and hammock holiday. with the sun shining, but not too strong, a cool breeze gentle against the skin. soft warm golden sand, the sound of the waves crashing. a good book to read while swinging in the hammock, a pair of shades over the eyes, a glass of fruit punch just within reach.

that would be paradise.

alas sadly, apparently only japan has everything i want minus the palm trees. boo. maybe we can go plant our own?
